Zwin Nature Park
During the summer holidays, the Zwin Nature Park’s huts will be open and offer visitors a wide range of activities.
Come and enjoy the fauna and flora of the Zwin Nature Park during the summer holidays! Several Zwin Guides are available on the cabin train and Zwin Plain.
Watch the breeding islands!
In the observation hut and at the observation wall, a Zwin guide is available to supply information about the birds that use the breeding islands to rest and feed.
You can use the telescopes to take a closer look at the birds on the island. If you need help, just ask the guide!
Guide present from 11:00 to 16:30
A closer look at freshwater creatures
Observe tiny pond life close up in the lab hut. Ever seen a dragonfly larva or water flea in detail?
Guide present from 10:30 to 16:00
The art and science of ringing
Would you like to know why ringing is so important and find out how bird ringers work?
You can watch a film about bird ringing as of July, and in August you can even take a hands-on part in ringing.
As of 1 August, the ringers will be present almost every day from 10:00 to 12:00.
De Zwinplain - the tidal area
The Zwin guide will tell you all about this unique tidal area and life in the mudflats and salt marshes.
Guide present from 12:00 to 17:30
A unique saltwater lab
Do you know why the birds love the tidal area so much? For its extensive menu, of course!
Shrimps, crabs, worms, mussels... all kinds of goodies birds simply can't get enough of and that you can see up close at the saltwater lab.
The saltwater lab is open on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Satudray and Sunday afternoons from 12:30 to 17:00
Children’s activities
Young visitors can also explore the Zwin at their own pace!
Making origami owls

Come and listen to a fascinating story in the forest hut!
from 14:00 to 16:45
Children aged 6-12 can take part each day in the Fly’s Treasure Hunt.
This year, the theme is ‘Taste’. There are 6 elf houses hidden in the park. Can you link the elves with their favorite eatable Zwin plant?
