Stork Weekend| Zwin Natuur Park

The Zwin’s storks are already returning from their winter quarters before spring really begins, and are looking for nesting spots at the Zwin Nature Park. They will be staying until August. During the Stork Weekend, we’ll be taking a closer look at these very special birds.

A walk along the nesting poles

The Zwin guide will take you for a walk along the nesting poles in the park.

To join this brief tour, you can meet up with the guide on the hour from 10:00 to 15:00, on the entrance square in the park.

Times: 10:00 – 11:00 – 12:00 – 13:00 – 14:00 – 15:00
You don't need to book this walk ahead of time, it’s included with the Stork Weekend activities in the standard entrance ticket.

A guide at the stork tower

The park’s look changes quite a bit when these impressive birds have returned to their spots on the nesting platforms.

Visit the guide at the stork tower and take a look from the tower. You can look into the nest without disturbing the birds!

Children’s activities

Our youngest visitors can listen to the story of ‘Old Stork’, or even pretend to be a stork and play a fun stork game. Who’ll collect their food fastest?

Handicraft activity in the observation centre from 11:00 to 16:30

Meet all the guides on your tour

There will be other Zwin guides on the cabin trail. At the feeding hut, you can observe birds in their natural surroundings. At the lab hut, you can take a close look at feathers and skulls under the MicroEye, like a real scientist. And at the observation hut, you can watch the birds on the breeding islands through the telescopes.

Interactive exhibition

Visit our interactive all-weather exhibition at the Visitor Centre. Check in at the beginning and take in the exhibition as if you were one of the Zwin’s birds.
